So, you've decided it's time! Time to book your family portraits! Yay!
Family portraits are one of the best investments you can make!
So, now the next question is, "What do we wear?" Well, don't stress out about what to wear. Just stay true to your family's style and also think about where these images will be placed in your home. That will help you determine your color scheme.

Since it's time to start booking those Fall mini portrait sessions I helped to help make the "what to wear" process a little less stressful. Here are a few style guides to help make your session everything you've dreamed of and more!

Women's Fall Fashion Guide No. 1
If your shoot location will be warm enough, bring flirty ruffles and cute cuts into the mix. A twist on the fashion looks of spring, this guide combines flattering, wearable colors with fun and interesting cuts, ruffles, and accessories. I especially love a statement sunhat or a small silk scarf tied around the neck. Go for stripes and delicate lace tops if your personal style includes pattern-play. If you're more of a black-on-black girl, try a voluminous cropped blouse with tailored black dress pants and heals. A red lip looks good with any combination of these looks!

Women's Fall Fashion Guide No. 2
My second guide is for the expressive and daring dresser. Bright chinoiserie and graphic 70s patterns in fresh colors are some of my favorite fall looks. Mix these with a grown-up wool cape or a patchwork denim piece to make them super-current. Not such a pattern lover? Try a 70s-90s inspired chic pantsuit in a flattering cream or camel color. Accessories: tassel earrings and vintage sunnies

Women's Fall Fashion Guide No. 3
Red and pink are sometimes reserved for Valentine's or Christmas, but I think they are gorgeous for fall, especially if you plan on using photos from your fall session for your holiday card. I've selected three feminine dresses in various cuts and a flawless blush wool coat to adapt for colder weather. Try bold heeled slides in Chinese red or a tropical print, or go seamless in patent, pointed-toe heels. Accessorize with jewel, pearl, or tassel earrings, and perhaps have a go at the velvet choker trend!

Women's Fall Fashion Guide No. 4
Does anything signal those fall feelings quite like the turning of leaves from vibrant green to gold? I love the hues that fall between ochre and mustard for fall garb. Go structured in a wrapped crop-top and floral trousers, or tap into slightly bohemian vibes with bell sleeves and wide-brim hats. Whether you opt for a flowing blouse or a strappy tank, full pleated a-line skirt or wide-leg pants, complete the look with platform heels. Accessorize with a vintage bandana or clear aviators
Now, let's hear it for the boys...

Men's Fall Fashion Guide No. 5
From dapper to causal, this fashion guide is all about blue. A truly season-less hue, navy always seems to make its way into our men's guide, and we're not sorry. Go ultra dapper in a suit and classic brown brogues, or dress down in a subtle flannel and navy bomber jacket. Either look can be improved with fun and daring suspenders.
Optional accessories: beanies, prescription-look glasses.

Men's Fall Fashion Guide No. 6
A retro-graphic tee, dark jeans or checked dress pants, bold or subtle floral button up, and a denim jacket to finish. The shoes, I image with this look range from sneakers to workboots, and you can't go wrong with a classic leather watch.

Men's Fall Fashion Guide No. 7
The starting point for this third men's fashion guide is a simple, but classic look: white tee or button up and black slacks or jeans. If your style veers a little Rock and Roll, try the London man's favorite: Chelsea boots. More sporty? Try Van skate shoes or a canvas sneaker. Complete the outfit with a maroon bomber or a wool overcoat. Any combination of this style guide can be complemented with a fun silk square and silver watch.

Men's Fall Fashion Guide No. 8
This last guide features a classic camel palette. A knit retro-inspired shirt, wool overcoat, and workwear jacket feature varying camel hues. A white tee, black slacks, and a light-wash denim jacket offers options to mix and match. A simple navy scarf adds personality and warmth for cold-weather shoots, and *bonus points* for suspenders!
