Love is hard to put into words, so that's why I love capturing beautiful candid moments. Just one glance and you get all the feels. I think when you look at these beautiful images from Ariane + Lawrence's engagement session you can definitely feel the love.

So, here's a little background to their love story. Ariane first laid eyes on Lawrence at one of her rooftop parties in Manhattan while he was in the middle of a crowd making people laugh. They chatted at the part and exchanged contact information, for what Ariane believed to be a new prospective PR client, and Lawrence just wanted her number. Lawrence asked her out on a date. Throughout the week leading up to the first date, Lawrence realized that he didn’t receive messages from Ariane with anticipation or excitement for their first date. The morning of the date, he decided to cancel for that reason. Ariane shrugged it off and grabbed wings at her favorite spot with her friend. A couple months later, Ariane was hosting another party and wanted some additional guys to attend, so she reached back out to Lawrence so he can come through with his crew. Lawrence was surprised, but delivered. At the party, Ariane spoon-fed Lawrence a piece of her homemade cake and it reignited their interest in one another. Following the party, they set up their first date and throughout the week Ariane sent messages of excitement and anticipation to see him.

The rest is history…

How did the proposal take place?

We discussed getting married earlier in 2018. Lawrence told Ariane that he would aim for the end of the year, but more likely 2019 for a proposal, but all along he had plans for sooner than that. We try to take mini vacays during the year to truly unwind, and oftentimes just travel an hour or so from the city. Last summer we went upstate, turned our phones off and focused on us! Upon arrival Lawrence scoped out places around the hotel for “the spot” unbeknownst to Ariane. Lawrence also encouraged Ariane to get a pedicure/manicure as well. She agreed but she didn’t do her nails saying she had done them very recently. We love getting dressed up for dinner dates and this night in particular Lawrence asked to leave a little early to take a picture before heading out - nothing out of the norm for us. Ariane was unaware that Lawrence already spoke to the staff and band in the lobby. When we got to the lobby Lawrence asked the receptionist to "take the picture". Little did Ariane know the receptionist was recording the whole thing, from our walk to the spot to his proposal and even to Ariane’s overheating and sweating fiasco from her nerves! Lawrence has always been an intentional lover and every part of his proposal reflected that - having the live band playing in the background and the champagne toast was just icing on the cake! This proposal was oh so fitting to who we are and so lovely. Ariane was truly in disbelief and was sweating so much that the staff had to bring over paper towels. To hear Ariane break the news to her family and friends via telephone was so enjoyable. Lawrence was surprised her phone still worked after all the screaming!

What kind of jobs do you both currently have?

Ariane works in Public Relations as the VP of Media Relations at Finn Partners

Lawrence is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in his own private practice and company, Breakthrough Solutions

What was your first thought the day after your engagement?

Ariane - First off, I couldn't sleep. I was just so grateful and excited! My first thought was that I couldn't believe I was getting married and to someone who was such a beautiful person. It was nice that we were away, I felt like we were able to really soak it up together.

Lawrence - It's going down!
