“You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection” – Buddha

self-love
ˈˌself ˈləv/
noun
noun: self-love
regard for one's own well-being and happiness
(chiefly considered as a desirable rather than narcissistic characteristic).

Boudoir photography often features sexy lingerie, slinky chemises, bra and panty sets and some times I even have clients who have gone nude, and that's acceptable if that's what you're comfortable and feel sexy in! Not everyone feels their best in more revealing outfits, so I absolutely loved that Ireana created a totally cute ensemble that fit her personality, style, and was full of class and grace.

Check out my interview with Ireana of XOXO, I. Joelle! Just stroll below and read all about how she defines self love and what inspires her as a creative and entrepreneur, also check out a few images from her boudoir session!
What I love about Ireana is her passion and drive to evolve all while making it look so fierce and fabulous!
How would you define self-love?
I define self-love as loving who you are physically and mentally. Accepting ALL of you for who you are no matter the mistakes you've made, your flaws etc. Self-love is knowing that you're worthy of love and respect.

When you first thought about doing a boudoir what came to mind?
I was a bit nervous because I was worried about my job seeing these pictures on the internet but other than that I was comfortable. I was really excited to get dressed up and show a side of myself that I wouldn't show in front of a camera.

During the session how did you feel?
I'm normally in front of the camera for my blog photos so everything came naturally to me. Wearing those clothes I had on made it extra special.

After the session how did you feel?
I felt so good, that is something I've always wanted to do. It felt good to celebrate me and who I am as a woman. In the days where society says you have to look a certain way to be accepted. I unapologetically changed the standard for myself.

Would you do another boudoir session just to celebrate you?
I would definitely do another one when the time is right.

Would you encourage a friend to treat herself to a boudoir session?
I encourage every woman to try it at least once, to celebrate who you are.

Are you ready to love yourself and step outside of your comfort zone? Well, wait no longer!

“To me, beauty is about being comfortable in your own skin.
It's about knowing and accepting who you are."
